Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tunisia

 

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tunisia were established on July 1, 1998.

 

Relations between Azerbaijan and Tunisia are developing within the framework of international organizations, including the UN and OIC.

 

By the Order of the President of Azerbaijan No. 1937 dated February 2, 2007, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Morocco, with a residence in the city of Rabat, was also appointed as Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Tunisia.

 

On April 17, 2009, the representative office in the Republic of Tunisia was established. Mubariz Shakir oglu Imanzade has been appointed as a temporary affairs attorney in the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Tunisia. After 4 years of activity, the representative office was closed

 

Since 2023, by Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Algeria has also been accredited with his residence in the city of Algiers in the Republic of Tunisia.

 

The Republic of Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of relations with Arab countries and the expansion of cooperation in various fields, including the Republic of Tunisia, with which the Republic of Azerbaijan is connected by religious and cultural roots. Cooperation between our countries exists on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international institutions. Both countries have a good potential for the development of mutual relations in various fields. Letters between Azerbaijan and Tunisia are constantly exchanged at the level of heads of state and government, as well as foreign ministers.

 

Mutual visits of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs

- On April 5-6, 2018 the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia Sabri Bashtobci participated in the Interim Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Baku.
