Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of the Gambia
On November 11, 1994, the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of the Gambia was signed.
Since July 2008, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Morocco has also been appointed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Gambia.
There are good and friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Gambia. Successful cooperation between our countries is carried out within the framework of international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the UN and the NAM. Gambia supported Azerbaijan's just position on the Karabakh issues on the international platform.
In 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022, Gambian students benefited from the educational grant programs for citizens of the OIC and NAM member countries.
