Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Senegal
On March 14, 1996, the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Senegal was signed.
By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 2207, dated June 4, 2007, the ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Morocco, with his residence in the city of Rabat, was also appointed as the ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Senegal.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Senegal are developing successfully both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international organizations. Our countries' constant support for each other within the framework of the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement is considered as a positive factor. Diplomatic correspondence at the highest level and mutual congratulations on international and national days are carried out between the two countries. Senegal supported the extension of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement for another year.
There are wide prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation between our countries in political, economic, commercial, cultural, humanitarian, energy and security fields.

- On March 13-14, 2008, at the 11th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the OIC member countries held in Dakar, the Azerbaijan delegation held an important and effective meeting for our countries between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. E. Mammadyarov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Senegal Sheikh Tidian Gadio.
- On September 28, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Senegal and Senegalese Abroad Sidiki Kaba within the framework of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
