Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Burundi
The protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries was signed on the 2nd of March 1995. In response to the appeal of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to the member states on the 22nd of April 2019, the Government of Azerbaijan has allocated US$30,000K to provide humanitarian assistance to Burundian refugees on the instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Burundi, Ezéchiel Nibigira, visited Azerbaijan as part of the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Baku on the 23rd to the 26th of October 2019.
On October 11, 2021, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan F.Rzayev met with the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Burundi to the UN Zefirin Maniratanga as part of his participation in the event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade.
