Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Cameroon
The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Cameroon signed the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations on February 24, 1995.
From June 29 to July 6, 2013, the International Development Assistance Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AIDA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, together with the Islamic Development Bank, implemented the campaign called "Combating Preventable Vision Loss" in African countries which also are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Within the framework of the campaign, thousands of people with vision problems in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, went through free eye examinations, and 303 people who had lost their vision received a free surgical operation and regained their sight. In addition, professional training for local ophthalmologists was also organized.
Azerbaijan and Cameroon enjoy friendly and cooperative relations within the framework of international organizations. Potential for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Cameroon also exists in the political, economic, trade and investment spheres.
Mutual visits of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs
- On October 12, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan J. Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cameroon Lejon Mbella Mbella within the framework of his participation in the event, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Belgrade.
