The Kingdom of Morocco
Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Morocco
On the 30th of December 1991, the Kingdom of Morocco recognized the independence of Azerbaijan. Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco were established on the 28th of August 1992.
On the 5th of March 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr Nasser Bureita, paid an official visit to Azerbaijan. On 24-26 October 2019, a delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Mohsen Al-Jazuli, visited the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On the 22nd of January 2015, a ceremony was held at the Faculty of Literature and Humanities of the Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco, to launch a study programme on Azerbaijani language, civilization and culture.
Contractual and legal framework
In total, Azerbaijan and Morocco signed twenty-three documents on co-operation in various fields.
Inter-parliamentary relations
The Working Group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco has been established and operates in the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The group is chaired by Ismayilov Imamverdi Ibish. The Moroccan-Azerbaijani Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group operates in the Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco. The leader of the group is Mr Mohamed Boudess.

On the 28th of September 2007, a joint commission on bilateral co-operation was established between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco.
