Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo were established as part of the Joint Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which was signed on the 23rd of September 2011 in New York. Mr Leonard She Okitundu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Democratic Republic of Congo, paid a working visit to our country to participate in the Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on the 4th to the 6th of April 2018. On the 23rd of March 2020, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the African Union, E. Abdullayev, responded to the call of the African Union to combat the Ebola virus rampant in the Democratic Republic of the Congo by providing US$20K in assistance to the EU Commissioner for Social Affairs, Mrs Amira el-Fadil.
