The Republic of the Niger
Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of the Niger
Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Niger was signed on October 10, 1995.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Niger mainly exist within the framework of the UN and OIC.
In 2013 and 2016 with the financial support of the International Development Assistance Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (as well as the other donors), a large number of patients were examined and eye surgery were conducted in Niger within the framework of the "Fight against preventable vision loss" campaign implemented in African countries. In addition, with the financial assistance of AIDA within the framework of the aforementioned campaign organized in 2019 and 2021 by the Islamic Development Bank and other donors, 3.212 people were provided with free eye surgery and 26.615 people had free examination.
Mutual visits of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs
- A delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Niger, Kalla Ankurao, visited Azerbaijan as part of the XVIII Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Baku on October 23-26, 2019. Within the framework of the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Niger Kalla Ankurao.
