Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Arab Republic of Egypt
The Arab Republic of Egypt recognized the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the 26th of December 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on the 27th of March 1992.
The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Baku has been established in April 1993, and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Cairo was opened in January 1994.
Azerbaijani-Egyptian relations based on friendship and cooperation have entered a new stage. A high-level political dialogue and exchange of visits have given an impetus to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas in line with the national interests of countries and nations.
Different instruments of cooperation, as well as active contacts between business circles stimulate the increase of commercial and economic relations. Moreover, seasonal flights provide opportunities to get acquainted with the tourism prospects of both countries. On a bilateral basis and within the framework of international institutions, the Arab Republic of Egypt has always supported the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
