Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Eritrea
The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Eritrea were established on April 20, 2004.
There is no embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in this country. Contacts and exchanges are carried out through the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ethiopia.
The Embassy of the Republic of Eritrea to the Russian Federation also has accreditation in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Cooperation relations exist between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Eritrea within the framework of international organizations. Trade cooperation between the two countries has the potential for growth. Thus, it is important to explore the possibilities and hold bilateral high-level meetings.
Mutual visits of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs
- On September 25, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Eritrea Osman Saleh Muhammad within the framework of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly. At the meeting, parties exchanged views on the perspectives of cooperation between the two countries, mutually beneficial cooperation, support within the framework of international organizations, as well as ongoing issues on the agenda of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.
