Republic of Azerbaijan Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Gabon is carried out mainly within the framework of the UN, NAM, OIC, and other international organizations. Gabon has always supported Azerbaijan's initiatives within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Representatives from Gabon participated in the trainings organized in Baku for the general secretaries and authorized representatives of the national commissions of African countries for UNESCO in cooperation with ADA University. Gabonese diplomats also participate in the professional development courses organized by AIDA for diplomats of foreign countries at ADA University.

Mutual visits of the Heads of the States

- On March 2, 2023, the Vice President of the Republic of Gabon, Rose Christian Ossuka Raponda, visited the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to participate in the Summit of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement on the fight against COVID-19, which was held in Baku.

Mutual visits of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs

- On April 4-6, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Gabon, Noel Nelson Messone, visited our country to participate in the ministerial conference of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Contractual and legal framework

A joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Gabonese Republic, which was signed in Riyadh on the 1^st of October 1996.
