Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Chad
The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Chad signed the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations on April 5, 2004.
Contacts with the Republic of Chad are carried out through the embassies of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ethiopia and Morocco.
The Embassy of the Republic of Chad to the Republic of Turkey is also accredited to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On June 17–24, 2013, the International Development Assistance Agency (AIDA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, jointly with the Islamic Development Bank, held a campaign "Fighting preventable vision loss" in Njamena, the capital of Chad. Thousands of people suffering from vision problems have undergone free eye examinations. 532 people who have lost their vision have been surgically operated free of charge and got the opportunity to see again. In addition, professional training for local ophthalmologists was also organized.
There are friendly and cooperative relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Chad. Political relations between two countries are at a very good level; both countries have favorable opportunities for the development of economic and commercial cooperation. It is possible to cooperate in the field of investment in the energy and oil exploration spheres. At the same time, close cooperation is carried out between our countries within the framework of international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement, and both countries provide mutual support to each other. The support of the Chad for the just position of Azerbaijan in international organizations and welcoming the liberation of Karabakh from occupation was highly appreciated by the head of state of Azerbaijan.
Mutual visits of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs
On April 6, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Integration of the Republic of Chad, Mahamat Zene Sherif, visited Azerbaijan to participate in the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Baku.
