Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Slovenia
The Republic of Slovenia recognized the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 27 December 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 20 February 1996.
Azerbaijan attaches importance to the development of relations with Slovenia, and cooperation between the two countries covers political, economic and humanitarian spheres.

Inter-parliamentary relations
A working group on the Azerbaijan-Slovenia inter-parliamentary relations, headed by Agalar Valiyev MP, has been established in the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and is composed of 8 members.
An interparliamentary friendship group with Azerbaijan, headed by Boyan Chebela, has been established in the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, and is consisted of the 7 parliamentarians.
- The chairmen of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia, Mitya Bervar, paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on 2-5 March 2015, and Aloyz Kovsa made a working visit on 25-26 October 2018.
Contractual and legal framework
12 bilateral agreements have been signed between Azerbaijan and Slovenia.
Economic cooperation
The Azerbaijan-Slovenia Joint Working Group was established in July 2014.
