Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Iceland
The Republic of Iceland recognized the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the 19th of January 1992. Azerbaijan established diplomatic relations with Iceland on 27 February 1998.
The Republic of Azerbaijan does not have an embassy in Iceland and it is accredited to Iceland through its Embassy in the United Kingdom.
The Republic of Iceland does not have an Embassy in Azerbaijan and it is accredited to Azerbaijan through its Embassy in the Russian Federation.
Azerbaijan attaches importance to its bilateral relations with Iceland and the bilateral ties involve political, economic and humanitarian areas.
Mutual visits of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs
- On May 16 – 18, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov paid a working visit to Iceland to attend the 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe in Reykjavik.
