Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands
The Kingdom of the Netherlands recognized the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 31 December, 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on April 1, 1992. The Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Netherlands was opened on 20 September 2005. The Embassy of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan was opened on 26 June, 2009.
Azerbaijan attaches importance to its bilateral relations with the Netherlands and the bilateral ties involve political, economic and humanitarian areas.
Mutual visits of the Heads of the States
- Four meetings were held between the heads of states and governments at different times:

Mutual visits of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs
- Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan (10-12 June 2012), Ed Kronenburg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (4 March 2010), and Frans Timmermans (4 February 2014) made mutual official visits.
- 6 meetings were held between the foreign ministers of the two countries. The last meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Hanke Braun Slot took place on 21 September 2023 within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Inter-parliamentary relations
- The Speaker of the Dutch Parliament, Rene van der Linden paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on 7-10 September 2010.
A working group on Azerbaijan-Netherlands interparliamentary relations, headed by Eldar Guliyev, operates in the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and it has 12 members.
