Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea were established on the 23rd of March 1992.
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Azerbaijan was established on the 4th of March 2006. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Korea was established on the 14th of March 2007. The establishment of the embassies has further intensified the relations between Azerbaijan and Korea.
Mutual visits of the presidents of the two countries in 2006 and 2007 respectively, opened up new opportunities for the co-operation between Azerbaijan and Korea, and expanded the economic and trade ties, while encouraging investment efforts.
Inter-parliamentary relations:
There are inter-parliamentary friendship groups in the parliaments of the two countries. Mr Lee Myoung-su is the head of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Korean Parliament.

In total, sixty-seven documents were signed between the two countries.

The main goods and products imported to the Republic of Azerbaijan from the Republic of Korea are polyethylene, pneumatic rubber tires for vehicles (cars and trucks), colour coated steel rolls, electrical equipment and apparatus, lubricants, sodium cyanides, medicines, polypropylene, plastic products, ferrous metal products, parts of non-electric furnaces and ovens, and other heating machines and equipment for the processing of materials during the heat exchange process, as well as elevators and skip loaders, prefabricated buildings.
The main goods and products exported from the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Korea are kerosene for jet engines, grape juice, books, clothing, second-hand clothes, tropical and other fruit juices, sauces, organic sparkling grape wines, hand-drawn pictures, paintings and pastels, wooden furniture, kitchen and dining utensils made of ferrous metals.
