Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Maldives
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Maldives were established on the 20th of December 1994. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of India is also accredited to the Republic of Maldives. The High Commission of the Republic of Maldives in the Republic of India is also accredited to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Both countries effectively cooperate within international organisations.
Mutual visits of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs
- On 25-26 October 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid, paid a visit to Azerbaijan to participate at the 8th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of member states of the Non-Aligned Movement.
- On 11-14 June 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid, paid a visit to Azerbaijan as the President of the 76th UN General Assembly.
