Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Maldives
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Maldives were established on the 20th of December 1994.
The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of India is also accredited to the Republic of Maldives.
The Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is also accredited to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Both countries cooperate effectively within international organisations.
On the 25th to the 26th of October 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Abdullah Shahid, visited Azerbaijan within the framework of the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
