Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Syrian Arab Republic

 

On the 16th of January 1992, the Syrian Arab Republic recognized the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

On March 28, 1992, diplomatic relations were established between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Syrian Arab Republic.

 

The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Syrian Arab Republic cooperate within the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned MovementThe Republic of Azerbaijan has offered humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees affected by the humanitarian calamity.

Contractual and legal framework

In total, twenty documents were signed between Azerbaijan and Syria on cooperation in various fields.

 

Economic cooperation

The Joint Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic was established on the 4th of November 2009.
