Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro
The Republic of Azerbaijan recognized the independence of the Republic of Montenegro on the 24th of July 2006 and on the 24th of April 2008, diplomatic relations were established between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro.
The Diplomatic Representation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Montenegro was opened on the 24th of April 2012. On the 9th of April 2019, the Diplomatic Representation of Montenegro was opened in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On the 9th of March 2016 and on the 14th to the 19th of March 2017, the President of Montenegro, Mr Filip Vujanović, paid a working visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On the 14th to the 16th of March 2019, the President of Montenegro, Mr Milo Đukanović, paid a working visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On the 1st to the 3rd of November 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Srdjan Darmanović, paid a working visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Intergovernmental Joint Commission
The first meeting of the Azerbaijan-Montenegro Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held on the 5th of 2014 in Podgorica, Montenegro.
