Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Denmark
Kingdom of Denmark recognised the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 31 December 1991. The two countries established diplomatic relations on 2 April 1992.
Azerbaijan has not opened an embassy in Denmark. Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Sweden is also accredited to Denmark.
Denmark has not opened an embassy in Azerbaijan. The Danish Embassy in Turkiye is also accredited to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan attaches importance to its bilateral relations with Denmark and bilateral ties involve political, economic and humanitarian areas.
Mutual visits of the Heads of the States
- 6-12 March 1995 – President Heydar Aliyev paid a working visit to Denmark.
Inter-parliamentary relations
Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan has set up the Azerbaijan-Denmark working group for parliamentary relations. The parliamentary group is headed by Sevinj Fataliyeva MP.

Azerbaijan and Denmark have signed 2 bilateral agreements.
