Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine
The active political dialogue established at the highest level between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine fosters the advancement of our bilateral cooperation across economic, trade, humanitarian, cultural, and various other sectors, laying a foundation for the enhancement of our relations in terms of substance.
The platforms of the inter-MFA political consultation, the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, and the interparliamentary friendship group are pivotal in the advancement of Azerbaijan-Ukraine bilateral relations.
Azerbaijan-Ukraine relations are successfully continued in the framework of international organizations, in addition to the bilateral format. Our countries demonstrate reciprocal support at various international platforms, including the UN, OSCE, GUAM, BSEC, and other international organizations.
Mutual visits of the Heads of the States
- The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, made a business visit to Ukraine on January 14, 2022.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an official visit to Azerbaijan on December 16-17, 2019.
Inter-parliamentary relations
Azerbaijan-Ukraine interparliamentary relations working group has been operating since 1995.
The head of the group from the Azerbaijani side – Alibala Maharramzadeh. The group has 18 members.
On January 16, 2020, a parliamentary group on interparliamentary relations with Azerbaijan was established in the Verkhovna Rada. The co-chairs of the group from the Ukrainian side – Valery Kolyukha and Vladimir Kreydenko. The group has 48 members.
Contractual and legal framework
