Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia

The relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, grounded in ancient historical ties, have evolved successfully and attained the level of a strategic partnership. The Republic of Azerbaijan places significant emphasis on its bilateral relations with Georgia and is committed to enhancing and broadening cooperation across all areas. The active political dialogue established at the highest level between the two countries serves as the foundation for significant achievements in various areas, including security, defense, economic, trade, energy, transport-logistics, tourism, cultural-humanitarian and other aspects of our bilateral cooperation. Currently, there is no area in Azerbaijan-Georgia relations where active collaboration is not evident.

In particular, the large-scale projects that Azerbaijan and Georgia jointly implement in energy and transport-logistics sectors not only significantly contribute to the development of our bilateral cooperation, but they also play an exceptional role in global energy security and intercontinental transport connections by crossing regional borders. Thus, important energy projects such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Southern Gas Corridor contribute to Europe's energy security, and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway forms a shorter and more efficient East-West alternative link.

The platforms of the inter-MFA political consultation, the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, and the interparliamentary friendship group are pivotal in the advancement of Azerbaijan-Georgia bilateral relations.

Azerbaijan-Georgia relations are effectively developing within the framework of international organizations. Our countries are always attentive to issues pertaining to each other's national interests and exhibit mutual support in the UN, OSCE, GUAM, OSCE and other international venues.
