Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Portugal
Portugal recognized Azerbaijan`s independence on January 7, 1992. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on June 5, 1992.
Azerbaijan attaches importance to the development of relations with Portugal, and cooperation between the two countries covers political, economic and humanitarian spheres.
Azerbaijan’s Embassy in The Holy See is also accredited to the Republic of Portugal.
Portugal has an Embassy in Baku.

Inter-parliamentary relations
The working group on Azerbaijani-Portuguese Inter-Parliamentary Relations in the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan is comprised of 6 members and headed by Nigar Arpadarai, MP.
