Relations diplomatic between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Finland

 

Republic of Finland recognised the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 30 Dcember 1991, which was followed by the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations on 24 March 1992.

 

Azerbaijan has not opened an embassy in Finland. Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Sweden is concurrently accredited to Finland as a non-resident Ambassador.

 

Finland has not opened an embassy in Azerbaijan. Finland uses the practice of Roving Ambassador for Azerbaijan with residence in Helsinki.

 

Azerbaijan attaches importance to its bilateral relations with Finland and bilateral ties involve political, economic and humanitarian areas.

Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan has set up the Azerbaijan – Finland parliamentary working group, which is chaired by Razi Nurullayev MP.
