Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus
Strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus have been established and developed thanks to the important role of genuine amicability, high-level dialogue and mutual understanding between the heads of our states.
A protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus was signed on the 11th of June 1993.
The Embassy of Belarus in Azerbaijan was opened in February 2006, and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Belarus was opened in August of the same year.
On the 18th to the 19th of November 2018, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, paid an official visit to Belarus.
On the 28th to the 29th of November 2016, the President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Grigoryevich Lukashenko, paid an official visit to Azerbaijan.
On the 13th to the 14th of April 2021, the President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Grigoryevich Lukashenko, was on a working visit to Azerbaijan.
On the 21st to the 22nd of June 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, paid a working visit to Belarus.
Economic co-operation
At present, more than 300 types of goods are mutually supplied between the two countries with the involvement of over 270 enterprises in mutual trade activities between Azerbaijan and Belarus. Moreover, 58 Azerbaijani companies are the legal representatives of Belarusian businesses in our country. There are 5 special purpose stores in our country (4 in Baku and 1 in Nakhchivan), where Belarusian agricultural products are traded.

Petroleum products; tobacco; aluminium materials; polyethylene and other chemical products; chocolate and chocolate products; fruit juices; bentonite clay; cotton yarn; etc.
Goods imported from Belarus to Azerbaijan:
Tractors; wood and wood materials; spare parts for drilling machines; medicines; medical equipment; plastic products; refrigerators; electric wires; food and agricultural products; etc.
