Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Lithuania
The Republic of Lithuania recognized the independence of Azerbaijan on the 20th of December 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on the 20th of November 1995.
The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Lithuania was opened in September 2007. The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Azerbaijan was opened on the 3rd of April 2007.
The political dialogue between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Lithuania continues at a high level through regular mutual visits.
On the 24th to the 25th of April 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, paid an official visit to the Republic of Lithuania.
On the 29th to the 30th of April 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, paid an official visit to Azerbaijan
Inter-parliamentary relations
The Working Group for Azerbaijani-Lithuanian Inter-Parliamentary Relations has been established and operates in the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The leader of the group is Nasib Mahamaliyev.
There is a group of inter-parliamentary relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Lithuanian Seimas. The leader of the group is Kazys Starkevičius.
Contractual and legal framework
In total, thirty-nine documents were signed between Azerbaijan and Lithuania.
Economic co-operation
In general, nineteen Lithuanian companies operate in the trade, services and construction sectors of Azerbaijan.

The Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania was established on the 20th of June 2008. So far, the commission has held 6 meetings.
