The Sultanate of Oman
Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Sultanate of Oman
The Sultanate of Oman recognized the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the 30th of December 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on the 13th of July 1992.
On the 28th of September 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Mr Yusif bin Alawi bin Abdullah, within the framework of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Contractual and legal framework
In total, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Sultanate of Oman signed two documents on co-operation in various areas.

Products exported from Azerbaijan: base oil, coumarone, indene or coumarone-indene resins and polyterpenes.
Products imported from Oman: frozen skipjack or oceanic bonito (tuna), quartzite, fittings, pipes for civil aviation, stones made from marble, travertine and alabaster for monuments and/or construction, including various products made from these types of stone, as well as upholstered furniture with carved or sawn wood carcasses, spare parts for earthmoving and tunnelling machines, packed pharmaceuticals for retail sale, and other products.
