Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Ghana
A protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries was signed on the 11th of September 1992.
A delegation led by the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, visited Azerbaijan as part of the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Baku on the 23rd to the 26th of October 2019.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, paid a working visit to our country on the 4th to the 6th of April 2018 to participate in the Midterm Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
On the 25th of September 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs Shirley Botchway, within the framework of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.
On the 1st to the 3rd of May 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs Shirley Botchway, visited the Republic of Azerbaijan to participate in the 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Integration of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs Shirley Botchway, joined the online summit of the Non-Aligned Movement Contact Group, which was held on the initiative of the Azerbaijani President and Chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ilham Aliyev in response to COVID-19 on the 4th of May 2020. The motto of the Summit was “United against COVID-19”.
