Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Rahimpour.

At the meeting satisfaction was expressed on development of bilateral relations according to the strategic guidance defined by the leaders of two countries. 
 
Contributions of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in providing peace, stability and security in the region were noted at the meeting.
 
Stressing the fact that Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict is the main threat to the regional peace and security, it was noted that for the resolution of the conflict, first and foremost, the armed forces of Armenia shall be withdrawn from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
 
Meanwhile, contribution of trilateral Azerbaijan-Iran-Türkiye cooperation format to the regional development was also underlined.
 
The importance of the Working Group meeting of the Caspian littoral states to be held on March 4-5 in Baku on preparation of the Convention on legal status of Caspian Sea also was mentioned.
 
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov also met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Rahimpour.
 
At the meeting the sides discussed the bilateral political, trade, scientific, cultural, transportation and energy cooperation.
