Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Sanjay Rana, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Republic of Azerbaijan
During the meeting, Ambassador Sanjay Rana presented a copy of his credentials to Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov recalling his official visit to India in 2013 stressed the favorable opportunities for the cooperation in the fields of energy, trade, tourism, information and communication technologies, culture, humanitarian and the other fields between the countries. Moreover, Minister informed about Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict adding that Armenia does not fulfill the demands of four relevant resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council and demonstrates non-constructive position in the negotiations process over the settlement of the conflict.
Ambassador Sanjay Rana stated that India fully supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Noting the importance of cooperation in the field of energy, he underlined that Indian companies are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan. Furthermore, he stressed that he would spare no efforts to foster trade and economic relations through reciprocal visits of business communities and economic forums.
During the meeting the importance of high-level mutual visits was also emphasized for the development of bilateral relations.
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov wished to Ambassador Sanjay Rana every success in his diplomatic activities.
