Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation led by Levan Izoria, Defence Minister of Georgia
Expressing satisfaction with his first visit to Azerbaijan, Levan Izoria stated that he had very interesting and fruitful meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr Ilham Aliyev. Minister said that our strategic partnership and friendship ties of two countries play an important role for the regional stability and noted that there are extensive relations and comprehensive action plan in the field of defence as well.
Levan Izoria also touched upon the defence cooperation of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye on a trilateral basis and mentioned that the 5th meeting of Defence Ministers in this format will be held soon.
At the meeting the ministers stressed the importance of adherence to the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of internationally recognized borders of states. The sides also commended Azerbaijan and Georgia’s mutual support of each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and their shared positions on the settlement of the conflicts that both countries are facing only based on these principles.
At the meeting the sides also exchanged their views on the other issues of mutual interest.
