The 26th meeting of the GUAM Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs took place in Belgrade
On December 3rd, 2015 in Belgrade, in the margins of the 22nd OSCE Ministerial meeting, the 26th meeting of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) took place.
The CMFA took note of the draft text of the UN GA resolution “Protracted conflicts in the GUAM area and their implications for international peace, security and development”, which was submitted by the Permanent Missions of the GUAM Member States to the UN.
Furthermore, GUAM-Japan Cooperation Program was signed within the meeting. Development of GUAM-Japan relationship, stronger engagement of Japan in GUAM regional cooperation, development and implementation of programs and projects for practical cooperation between GUAM and Japan were mentioned in the Program.
Meanwhile, consultations on broad range of actual problems of international and regional relations in order to maintain international peace and security on basis of the UN Charter, generally recognized principles and norms of international law, particularly those related to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states were highlighted as new goals of cooperation.
