No:597/22, Press release on the 45th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation

On December 21, 2022, the 45th meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) was held in video conference format.

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev participated in the meeting chaired by the Acting Chairman of the BSEC Organization, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Nicolae Popescu.

 

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev informed the participants of the event about the restoration and reconstruction activities carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan's efforts to ensure peace in the region, creation of a green energy zone in the liberated territories and the measures implemented in this direction. He drew the attention of the participants to Azerbaijan's position on the landmine threat in the liberated territories, transfer of landmines produced by Armenia to the territory of Azerbaijan through the Lachin corridor, regional security and other issues.

 

It was noted that Azerbaijan has implemented the coordinating country role in the Working Groups of the BSEC Organization on Culture, Information and Communication Technologies, Institutional Reforms and Good Governance, as well as Small and Medium Enterprises. At the same time, it was brought to attention that our country will act as a coordinating country in the Working Group of the BSEC Organization on Tourism Cooperation for a period of 2 years (2023-2024) starting from January 1, 2023.

 

At the end of the meeting, the protocol and a number of important decisions were adopted and the chairmanship was handed over to Serbia.
