No:562/22, Press release on political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Indonesia
On December 6, 3rd bilateral political consultations - "3rd Political Planning Dialogue" were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia).
In the consultations, from Azerbaijani side the delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov, and from the opposite side - by the head of the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, director general Dr. Yayan GH Mulyana.
During the political consultations, discussions were held on the current state of bilateral and multilateral relations between our countries, future prospects, including political, economic, trade, culture, education, consular issues, etc. Also, prospects of cooperation within the UN, Non-Aligned Movement, OIC, ASEAN/AIPA were discussed.
During the discussions, noting that 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Deputy Minister E. Mammadov stated that during these years, the agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia in various fields has been formed both on a bilateral and multilateral basis, and there is a wide potential for the further development of relations. He expressed his gratitude for Indonesia's continuous support to our country, including support during the 44-day Patriotic War.
E. Mammadov gave detailed information to the opposite side about new developments in the region in the post-conflict period, rehabilitation and reconstruction works carried out in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation. Informing the opposite side about the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the advancement of Azerbaijan's peace agenda, the opening of communications, he also noted that the provocations committed by Armenia pose a threat to ensuring peace and stability in the region.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on other regional and international security issues of mutual interest.
