No:518/22, Press release on the event held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia
On November 17, 2022, an event and exhibition were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
The leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as employees of the Embassy took part in the event.
The event began with playing the National Anthems of both countries.
Later, the exchange of letters of the foreign ministers of the two countries addressed to each other on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations took place.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov, stressed that relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are based on historical roots and traditions of friendship and that relations have developed dynamically in many directions in the last 30 years. Deputy Minister emphasized that there are multidimensional strategic partnership relations between two countries in political, economic, trade, energy, humanitarian, and other fields. Kh.Khalafov noted with satisfaction that, the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E.Ilham Aliyev to Georgia in October 2022 gave a special impetus to the development of bilateral political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian relations between our countries. In the end, Deputy Minister conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of this significant day and wished peace, tranquility, and prosperity to both nations.
Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Zurab Pataradze, proudly noted the achievements in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia over 30 years and congratulated participants on this significant date. Ambassador noted with satisfaction the high-level cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in many areas. At the same time, Ambassador referred to the signing of more than a hundred documents covering various fields between the two countries, and especially emphasized the expansion of cooperation in the economic field.
At the end of the event, the participants got acquainted with the photo exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
