No:482/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Juraj Blanár, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic

On 5 December 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Juraj Blanár, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, within the framework of his participation in the 31st meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council.
During the meeting, Azerbaijan–Slovakia strategic partnership relations, important decisions achieved within the framework of COP29, as well as the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period were discussed.
The meeting held between the leaders of the two countries within the framework of COP29 was recalled with satisfaction. In this regard, the importance of carrying out mutual high-level visits, as well as continuing political consultations in the direction of developing strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia based on friendship, mutual respect and beneficial cooperation, was emphasized. The existence of broad prospects for the development of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, as well as energy, and the necessity of using the available opportunities were stressed.
The other side was informed in detail about our country’s Presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and the outcomes of COP29, and it was noted that a number of important decisions, including the Baku Finance Goal, were adopted within the framework of the session.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also provided detailed information on the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, restoration and reconstruction works, as well as peace efforts. Along with noting the progress achieved in the direction of delimitation, as well as the peace agreement, the obstacles created by existing territorial claims in the Constitution and legislative acts of Armenia were pointed out. Joint efforts between the two countries in the fields of restoration and reconstruction works, as well as mine clearance, were reviewed.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
