No:397/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the phone conversation of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov
On September 13, 2022, a phone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
During the phone conversation, the clashes and tension in the region were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his interlocutor on the recent situation in the region as a result of large-scale provocations by the Armenian armed forces, as well as the steps taken by Azerbaijan to prevent aggression. It was emphasized that during the last month, Armenia regularly opened fire at our positions, continued the mining of our territories, and, contrary to tripartite statements, did not completely remove the Armenian armed forces from our territories.
Sergey Lavrov pointed out that it is necessary to avoid conflict in the region, as well as the importance of the full implementation of the trilateral statements signed between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and the Russian Federation.
The parties exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
