No:387/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 27 September 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the framework of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, bilateral, as well as multilateral strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and issues arising from our country’s Presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), were discussed.
It was emphasized that there is broad cooperation potential in political, economic, energy, alternative energy, science, education, culture, youth, sports and other aspects in the direction of developing the existing partnership relations between the two countries.
Along with this, the importance of using the development prospects of existing cooperation in the fields of tourism, agriculture, industry, high technologies, mutual investments and transport was noted.
The Minister noted that COP29, hosted by our country this year, creates favorable opportunities for new areas of partnership, and that Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina within this framework.
The other side was also informed in detail about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and construction works carried out in the liberated territories, the works conducted in the field of combating the mine threat, as well as the current situation of the normalization and peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
At the same time, at the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on new areas of cooperation and other topics of mutual interest.
