On 9 September 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to our country Hossam El-Din Effat Mustafa Reda.
Ambassador Hossam El-Din Effat Mustafa Reda presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his activities.
During the meeting, issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt, as well as the regional and international situation were discussed.
The importance of friendly relations between the leaders, mutual visits at high and highest levels, the activities of the intergovernmental commission, as well as the political consultations mechanism in the development of cooperation between the two countries was noted.
Issues of cooperation within regional and international organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement were discussed.
The cooperation between our countries during the period of our country’s hosting and chairmanship of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) was recalled with satisfaction.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the counterpart side in detail about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, as well as the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the territories liberated from occupation.
The sides also held discussions on the security situation in the Middle East region.
The Ambassador stated that he is pleased to serve as Egypt’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan and that he will spare no effort to develop bilateral relations and cooperation during his tenure.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
