No: 345/21, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
On September 23, 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Filippo Grandi on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.
The sides exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UNHCR and humanitarian issues on the agenda. The sides also discussed the return of IDPs to their homes in accordance with the Trilateral Statement of November 10, 2020.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his interlocutor on the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated areas and measures taken for the return of the IDPs to these areas.
Filippo Grandi expressed his gratitude for the detailed information and stressed the importance of restoration of relations between the two countries in order to achieve lasting peace in the region.
