No: 343/21, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf
On September 23, 2021, within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf.
At the meeting it was noted that political relations between Azerbaijan and the GCC member states are at a high level and are based on mutual respect and friendship.
The parties expressed confidence that the Azerbaijan-Gulf Cooperation Council business forum to be held in Baku will create favorable conditions for further development of the cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment and tourism.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his interlocutor on the current post-conflict situation in the region, in particular, the threat of landmines and its consequences, the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories. The interest of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states’ in the participation in the reconstruction process currently underway in the liberated territories was highly appreciated.
The Secretary General noted that Azerbaijan’s position on the conflict has always been unequivocally and fully supported by the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The sides discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council, including the development of a joint Action Plan for 2021-2025, as well as regional and international security issues.
