On 12 September 2024, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel.
During the phone call, the sides discussed cooperation issues between the two countries, as well as the regional and international security situation.
The sides noted that the development of existing relations between Azerbaijan and Luxembourg and such contacts play an important role in discussing issues of mutual interest.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also provided the other side with detailed information on the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, as well as on the progress and current status of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
It was emphasized that the ongoing territorial claims against Azerbaijan in Armenia’s legislation, as well as the country’s rapid militarization, are among the main factors posing a threat to the process of building sustainable peace in the region.
The sides also exchanged views on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest during the phone call.
