No:291/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the event and exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Romania
On June 17, 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted an event and exhibition on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Romania.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the Ambassador and staff of the Romanian Embassy in Azerbaijan, as well as former Romanian President Emil Constantinescu, former Deputy Prime Minister Ana Birchall, former Foreign Minister and current Secretary-General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Lazăr Comănescu, who are taking part at the Global Baku Forum, and other guests.
The event began with the national anthems of both countries.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov said that the relations between Azerbaijan and Romania, which have been developing in various directions over the past 30 years, have reached the level of strategic partnership. Khalaf Khalafov stressed the importance of numerous reciprocal visits in this regard. Noting the successful development of economic relations and cooperation between the two countries, Deputy Minister Khalaf Khalafov said there are great opportunities for expanding economic and trade cooperation.
Speaking later, Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasile Soare conveyed his sincere congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Romania. Noting that Romania is the second country after Turkey to recognize Azerbaijan's independence, Ambassador Vasile Soare noted with satisfaction the friendly and strategic partnership between the two countries, which has been developing in various fields for 30 years, and stressed in this regard the importance of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2009. Expressing satisfaction with the development of relations between the two countries during 30 years in various fields, including political, economic and cultural, the Ambassador stressed the importance of the existing high-level dialogue between the two countries.
Former Deputy Prime Minister of Romania Ana Birchall and former Romanian Foreign Minister Lazăr Comănescu also spoke at the event, expressed their sincere congratulations on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and shared their views on the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Romania.
At the end of the event, the participants got acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Romania.
