No:282/18, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Türkiye Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

On the sidelines of the Seventh Trilateral Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia and the Republic of Türkiye held in Istanbul, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with his Turkish counterpart, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
 
At the meeting the sides expressed their satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between the two friendly and brotherly countries in all spheres and various formats, as well as the level of strategic alliance of political relations. 
 
The Ministers emphasized the importance of further strengthening of the cooperation based on the strategic partnership, good neighbourliness, mutual respect and trust.
 
The sides exchanged their views on energy, transport, logistics and other regional projects implemented with the participation of the two countries. The Ministers expressed their confidence that the inauguration of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway would make a significant contribution to the development of the region, increase of people-to-people contacts and trade turnover. Furthermore, the sides underlined that the regional projects initiated and implemented with the participation of Azerbaijan and Türkiye will facilitate competitive transportation between Asia and Europe.
 
Touching upon the negotiation process of peaceful resolution of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict Minister Elmar Mammadyarov reiterated that Azerbaijan is ready to substantive negotiations. Minister E.Mammadyarov underlined that  the presence of the armed forces of Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan in a flagrant violation of the UN Security Council resolutions, continues to pose a serious threat to the whole region.
 
At the meeting the sides also discussed the bilateral cooperation issues in science, education, health and other fields.
