No:275/17, Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Serbia had an exchange of congratulatory letters on the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries
Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić had an exchange of congratulatory letters on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In the letter addressed to his counterpart Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov mentioned that passed 20 years were marked by steady development of relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia in political, economic, scientific, cultural and humanitarian fields.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that during these years Azerbaijan and Serbia have enjoyed mutual support within the international organizations. In this context, Minister reiterated his gratitude for the principled position of Serbia regarding the soonest settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of internationally recognized borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Elmar Mammadyarov stressed that with the signing of the Declaration on Friendly Relations and Strategic Partnership on February 8, 2013, by Heads of States, relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia entered a new level. Furthermore, Minister said that this Declaration sets new prospects for further deepening of Azerbaijan-Serbia cooperation and expressed his confidence on realization of the goals identified in the mentioned document will be successfully continued in years to come.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić in the letter addressed to Elmar Mammadyarov said that during the past years have been built a stable foundation for long-term and close cooperation between two countries, along with strengthening brotherly relations and mutual respect. In this respect, Minister expressed his satisfaction with the traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan based on the principles of equality and mutual trust that are developing at a high level of strategic partnership.
Ivica Dačić expressed his conviction that through joint activities the bilateral cooperation between two countries will continue to be promoted successfully in different directions.
Serbian Minister also reiterated his gratitude for the principled policy of support to the preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
