No:246/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the visit of the Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev to the Republic of Finland
On May 20-21, 2022, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev paid a working visit to the Republic of Finland.
During the visit, meetings were held with Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto, First Vice Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Antti Rinne, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of Finland Petri Hakkarainen and Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Matti Anttonen.
During the meetings, the importance of the visit and the cultural events planned in the capitals on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Finland was praised, the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for future development were discussed, the potential, especially in the fields of education and economics, was highlighted, and also an exchange of views on the post-conflict processes in the South Caucasus, regional and international issues took place.
At the roundtables held with the leaders and researchers of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) and the Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation the normalization process in the South Caucasus during the post-conflict period, as well as current international and regional issues were analyzed, and the position of our country was brought to the attention of the interlocutors.
During the visit, a concert of Isfar Sarabski Jazz Trio and diplomatic reception were held at the Musikikitalo Palace in Helsinki with the participation of Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev and Deputy Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Nina Vaskunlahti on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Finland.
