No:238/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif

On 30 May 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, within the framework of his official visit to Pakistan.
During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the level of existing strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and emphasized the importance of high-level mutual visits, as well as mutual support within international organizations.
The sides discussed cooperation opportunities in the fields of economy, trade, energy, tourism, education, science and culture, transport, as well as defense.
The sides drew attention to the importance of holding meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation on a regular basis and touched upon the prospects for the development of bilateral economic relations, particularly in the fields of energy and mutual investments.
At the same time, it was brought to attention that strengthening the activities of the Azerbaijan–Pakistan–Türkiye trilateral cooperation format in all directions will not only contribute to mutually beneficial cooperation, but will also serve to strengthen the regional and global positions of all three countries.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), hosted by our country this year, creates favorable opportunities for new areas of cooperation.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was held on other current issues on the agenda and bilateral and multilateral topics of mutual interest.
