No:235/25, Press release on political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic

On 6 June 2025, the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic was held in the city of Prague.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev, while the Czech delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Marian.
During the consultations, an exchange of views was held on the prospects for the development of political relations between the two countries, and the importance of mutual visits and contacts within the framework of international events to promote sustainable political dialogue was emphasized.
In the context of economic cooperation, possibilities for increasing bilateral trade turnover, as well as for implementing joint projects in areas such as energy, transport and high technologies were discussed. The strategic role of our country within major transport projects initiated and actively supported by Azerbaijan, including the Middle Corridor initiative, was highly appreciated.
At the same time, it was noted that cooperation in the fields of education, culture and tourism will make an important contribution to strengthening people-to-people contacts.
During the meeting, detailed information was also provided on the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process and the factors hindering this process, the steps taken by our country to ensure sustainable peace, as well as the mine problem in the liberated territories and the large-scale reconstruction and rebuilding works carried out there.
In conclusion, the sides exchanged views on regional and international agenda issues of mutual interest.
During the visit, F. Rzayev also held other bilateral meetings and participated in discussions held in a roundtable format with representatives of leading research institutions and think tanks.
