On 3 June 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Kenya, met with the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Kenya Amason Jeffah Kingi.
During the meeting, the current state and development prospects of the relations formed over the 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kenya were discussed.
The sides emphasized that the promotion of interparliamentary cooperation, particularly direct contacts at the level of friendship groups and committees, will play an important role in further strengthening relations.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that Azerbaijan highly appreciates the existing productive cooperation with Kenya in multilateral platforms, particularly within the framework of the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.
During the meeting, the importance attached to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) hosted by Azerbaijan, as well as to the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in 2026, was noted, and the contribution of these initiatives to the global agenda was highly appreciated.
In conclusion, the sides emphasized the importance of strengthening Azerbaijan–Kenya relations through further enhancing interparliamentary dialogue and promoting mutual visits.
