No:190/26, Press release on the entry into force of the Agreement on mutual visa exemption between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Maldives

The necessary domestic procedures required for the entry into force of the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Maldives on mutual visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports,” signed in New York on 24 September 2025, have been completed.
Accordingly, in line with the relevant provisions of the Agreement, the document enters into force on 29 April 2026.
Under the Agreement, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan holding valid ordinary passports and citizens of the Republic of Maldives holding valid ordinary passports are exempt from visa requirements for entering, exiting, and transiting through the territory of the other Party, as well as for stays not exceeding 90 (ninety) days from the date of entry.
